A board leaves the studio unmarked. Everything that happens to it after that happens somewhere we never get to see.
The first knife line. The oil going darker in the grain. The meals it holds on an ordinary Tuesday and the ones it holds once a year. We are collecting photographs of KHEM boards where they actually live, and we would like yours among them.
A photograph and a line about what it has held. That is the whole ask.
You can stay completely anonymous. Choose how you are credited — first name and state, initial only, or nothing at all — and that is exactly how it appears. We never publish your email address or your last name, and whether a person is in the frame is entirely your call.
Every submission is read by hand. We write back before anything goes on this page.
