Lune Round End-Grain Cutting Board

A cutting board built the slow way. Lune is end grain, which means the wood fibers stand upright to meet your knife — the edge slips between the fibers instead of slicing across them. The surface closes back over itself, so it shows fewer scars, stays smoother for years, and is markedly kinder to your knife edges than a standard face-grain board.
The round form is finished with a deep, sculpted radius edge that pillows into the palm, and a single sculpted groove carved into the underside — a hidden lift that lets you sweep the board off the counter in one motion or hang it on a hook between meals. No hardware, no flat dead weight. Just solid wood and the cut of the tool.
Lune is available in three solid North American hardwoods — black walnut, cherry, and hard maple — each precision-made and hand-finished in our Hudson Valley studio. Because every board is solid wood, the grain pattern is one of a kind: walnut runs dark and warm, cherry deepens to a rich amber, and maple stays pale and luminous. Each is sealed with Walrus Oil, a food-safe blend of oil and cutting-board wax.
- End-grain construction — self-healing surface, gentle on knife edges
- Available in solid black walnut, cherry, or hard maple — each naturally dense and food-safe
- Radius edge profile, comfortable to lift and hold
- Sculpted underside groove for one-handed lift and hook storage
- Finished with food-safe Walrus Oil + cutting-board wax
- Made in our Hudson Valley studio; no two boards alike
Dimensions: 14" diameter × 2" thick · Wood: solid black walnut, cherry, or hard maple — end grain · Finish: Walrus Oil (food-safe)
Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, then dry flat. Never soak or dishwasher. Re-oil with Walrus Oil when the wood looks dry — roughly monthly with regular use. The groove faces down; it's a lift handle, not a juice well.
